US Rowing Membership & Waivers

In preparation for practice and competition, we want to ensure every Mercy Crew athlete has updated their USRowing Membership, either by renewing an existing membership or initiating a new membership, and has signed their Online Waiver. All USRowing waivers expire at the end of each calendar year on Dec. 31. 

Every rower must have a current USRowing Basic Membership at a minimum and a completed USRowing Waiver prior to the first regatta in order to be placed on a roster for Mercy Crew and be eligible to be registered to compete.

Coaches will be regularly checking the on-line roster to confirm that each girl has joined USRowing and has signed the waiver prior to registering for spring regattas.

A Basic Membership in USRowing is $25.00/year for new members. Basic Membership is all that is required. Becoming a Basic Member allows you to sign a waiver, or release of liability, and permits you to participate in any registered regatta across the United States (as long as your organization is a USRowing Organizational Member). Insurance coverage also includes Sport Liability Coverage through the organization.

  • Only if interested, Basic Members with the “Regatta” Package Add-on receive the liability coverage and excess accident medical coverage. New for 2018, “Add-On” packages will allow Basic members to add popular benefits, and racing opportunities in USRowing owned regattas. 

All membership activities will be completed through USRowing’s new Membership Portal (or membership.usrowing.org)  For both Memberships and Waivers, athletes and parents will work on the ‘Individuals’ side of the portal.  Please find instructions below, or see the tutorial videos at the end of each section. 

US Rowing Membership – Join or Renew

If you are a New Rower and this will be your first USRowing Membership:

  • Go to membership.usrowing.org
  • Click ‘Join’ and follow the prompts to choose a membership level and then sign your waiver.   *Note: The primary email you provide here will be used for password resets. Enter the email of the individual who will most likely be managing this account. USRowing can change this if necessary.
  • Set up your profile with name, address, phone, email, password, etc.
  • Under your profile you will see My Organizations. You will need to affiliate Mercy Crew with your membership in order for you to show up on Mercy Crew’s eligible roster.
    • Click ‘Join Organization’’
    • For Club or Team Name, enter 1608 and select ‘Our Lady of Mercy High School, Rochester, NY.
    • When prompted for Club Code, enter 4MKXU.
  • Select Membership Type from the drop down menu. Basic Membership is $25.00 and is all that is required. You can choose to upgrade to a higher membership only if you would like.
  • Select ‘Submit’.
  • It will then take you to the screen to update and sign your USRowing Waiver.
  • The next screen is where you will be prompted to enter payment (i.e. credit card) information. Complete and select ‘Submit’.

For Rowers who already have USRowing Membership accounts:

  • Go to membership.usrowing.org
  • Click ‘Members’ and then select ‘Renew/ Upgrade’.
  • Enter your Member Number and Password. If you don’t remember the password, click ‘Set/Reset’.
  • Under your profile look under My Organizations and be sure ‘Our Lady of Mercy, Rochester, NY’ is listed. If not, you will need to affiliate Mercy Crew with your membership.
    • Click ‘Join Organization
    • For Club or Team Name, enter 1608 and select ‘Our Lady of Mercy High School, Rochester, NY’.
    • When prompted for Club Code, enter 4MKXU.
  • Click ‘Renew’.
  • Select Membership Type from the drop down menu. Basic Membership is $20.00 and is all that is required. You can choose to upgrade to a higher membership only if you would like.
  • Select ‘Submit’.
  • It will then take you to the screen to update and sign your USRowing Waiver.
  • The next screen is where you will be prompted to enter payment (i.e. credit card) information. Complete and select ‘Submit’.

US Rowing Waiver

If your membership is current and you just need to sign your USRowing Waiver:

  • Go to membership.usrowing.org
  • Click ‘Members’ and select ‘Sign Waiver’.
  • Login by entering your Member Number and Password. If you don’t remember your password, click ‘Set/Reset’.
  • Be sure that under ‘My Organizations’ you see ‘Our Lady of Mercy HS, Rochester, NY’ listed. 
  • Our Club or Team Name:  Our Lady of Mercy High School (Rochester, NY) #1608
    • Be sure to select the correct one #1608, there are several schools with a similar name.
  • Our Club Code is 4MKXU. You need to enter this in order to appear on the coaches’ roster.

With a membership and an online waiver signed, you are ready to compete! Each team member must complete these two things in order to compete in a regatta.
