Mercy Crew Learn to Row Programs

For students entering Grades 6-12 with no prior rowing experience interested in learning to row for Mercy Crew. Using ergs and eight-person boats the sweep rowing technique (using one oar) will be taught along with rowing concepts & terminology and proper safety. The eight person boat creates a balanced environment to learn the mechanics of the rowing stroke. Participants will learn boat and oar handling techniques in small-group sessions with the help of experienced Mercy Crew rowers and coaches.

Participants will learn boat and oar handling techniques in small-group sessions. Types of sculling boats/ events include a single 1x, a double 2x or a quad 4x. Current rowers need to have one year of rowing experience behind them in order begin sculling, so even Fall Novices can participate!
