Attend the Section 2 Showcase Opportunity December 13th!
The Section 2 Rower’s Showcase is a yearly recruiting event held by Saratoga Rowing Association; The purpose of the event is to connect local rower’s with college coaches while educating their parents on the recruiting process. The event will be held on the Friday, December 13th, at the SRA Training Facility and Boathouse.
The event is open to all athletes willing to travel to Saratoga.

NY State Coaches, HS Junior & Senior Athletes and Parents,
With the fall season underway, the honest truth is that upperclassmen are not only preparing for racing, but preparing for college and their college search. It’s a stressful process with lots of moving parts; Saratoga Rowing Association would like to help.
This year, SRA will offer the Section 2 Rower’s Showcase for the 3rd year in a row. We’ve continued to expand our offerings to everyone willing to travel to Saratoga.
ATHLETES
- This event is only open to current high school Juniors and Seniors.
- Throughout the course of the event, you will be asked to do various drills, complete a 5-minute piece at rate 22, and demonstrate your peak power.
- While coaches will be limited in the communication they can have with you, you’ll have every resource you’ll need to demonstrate your competency as a rower & follow-up with them after the event.
- Athletes who register early will be receive an athlete bio, which every coach in attendance will receive.
PARENTS
- The college recruiting process is a challenging process. There are rules, regulations, and guidelines for everything and we know it can be an overwhelming process. SRA is committed to growing rowing in our community and that includes you.
- This year, we welcome Leanne Davis to Saratoga; Leanne comes with extensive experience in the college recruiting, admission, and financial aid process. Leanne has guided countless families through the rowing recruiting and college admissions process. Before becoming a counselor, she navigated the recruiting system as a coach and recruiter for the George Washington University women’s rowing program. She also spent many years coaching junior rowing. This unique background enables her to understand the intricacies and subtle nuances of recruiting from all perspectives. Additionally, she is a member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC).
- This program is free to parents, but your child must be registered for the showcase and parents must register HERE
- The presentation will take place from 3:30-4:30 pm upstairs at the Saratoga Boathouse.
- Please Note: Parents are not allowed to attend the recruiting event at the Training Center; You may attend the parent presentation or come back at the end of the event.
